Learn to Swim with Total Swimming in Scotland and Merseyside

Today, research from the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) has revealed that 1 in 3 children now leave primary school unable to swim. This afternoon, the ASA will lobby for more funding to be made available to deliver school swimming and address this shocking statistic.

However, the findings also imply the important role of other providers of swimming lessons in teaching children how to swim, both in addition to and in the absence of school lessons. Swimming is an essential life skill, with drowning being the biggest cause of accidental death among children in the UK.

Total Swimming Merseyside and Scotland Academies

In Merseyside and Scotland, Total Swimming delivers Learn to Swim for children through The Steve Parry Academy.

Total Swimming offer high quality swimming lessons delivered in convenient and accessible venues, including school pools and hotels. Tuition is based on the Amateur Swimming Association’s National Plan for Teaching Swimming using ASA and SASA qualified swimming teachers.

The key to swimming success with Total Swimming's academies is high quality teaching delivered at low ratios - with no more more than 6 children per group. Swimmers also receive nationally recognised qualifications, being rewarded for both the skills of swimming and distances. Progression is monitored on a continual, week by week basis, with an individual written report from their instructor on week 11 of each 12 week course.

It is also possible to enroll without lengthy waiting lists.
