Child inactivity across the country
Coming out with some of the highest rates of inactivity, local authorities such as Sheffield, Oldham and Rugby showed less than 7% of children were active for at least 60 minutes per day.
So, how do we fix this?
We understand there’s a whole host of reasons that children can be more or less active in certain areas, from local school initiatives, to investments in community sports centres – but we also know the impact just an extra 30 minutes of exercise can have on a child’s mental and physical health.
Because of this, our mission is to give every child the opportunity to take part in swimming, in England and Scotland - and let’s start seeing less red!
