What is “Diamond Workouts”?

Diamond Workouts is a collection of the training sessions of every single one of Great Britain's current National Record Holders. Each British Record Holder was asked for and subsequently contributed two actual sessions from his/her own training programme.

The first of the two is their Hell Session - a session of painfully memorable difficulty. It may or may not have much science involved in it and may or may not be recommended as a session to repeat regularly, but whatever the case it is diabolically hard.

The second session is their Diamond Workout - a session which they think had/has a huge impact on their performance. It is likely to have a good portion of scientific backing behind it, or at the very least a high degree of training logic. The point is that its value to the athlete is literally priceless.

Why produce the Diamond Workouts book?

This book has been produced to provide a remarkable and fascinating collection of training sessions for coaches, swimmers and indeed anyone with a sporting interest in how international athletes reach their apex. We hope it will disperse knowledge, provoke debate, demonstrate the levels of commitment given by these athletes and most of all provide an ocean of inspiration.
