Swim Leaders is offering you the chance to get your ASA Level 1 Teaching Aquatics award- potentially for as little as £25! We have eight courses across the country, see below for the one near you.

The courses are being run in the flowing locations and on the following dates:

Islington, London: 15th-19th March
Liverpool: 18th- 20th March, 25th- 26th March
Spelthorne, London: 25th-29th March
Wolverhampton: 25th-27th March, 30th-31st March
Bristol: 25th-29th March
Manchester: 25th-28th March
Newcastle upon Tyne: 29th & 30th March, 5th, 6th and 13th April
Manchester: 30th March-2nd April

All courses are full days and last for between four and five days. In order to pass the course you must be present each day. Places are limited and are on a first come first serve basis, participants also need be signed up to the Sports Leaders program to be accepted. Course Description

Achievement of this certificate will qualify you to operate as a support teacher. It will provide you with the generic “how to teach/coach” skills common to all disciplines together with specific focus on movement literacy. The second part of the course will focus on aquatic teaching including the technical knowledge and practical skills which will allow you to actively support a more senior qualified/licensed aquatic teacher at any level, in the delivery of a pre-prepared session. You will be expected to have an understanding of the aquatic environment and a basic understanding of appropriate corrections to common aquatic faults.

Course Syllabus

Assessment is by the course tutor/assessor and will cover:

• Practical coaching through the use of a continuous checklist plus one formal 15 minute assessment
• Theoretical knowledge through the use of a multi choice knowledge test
• Planning, preparation and other associated tasks through the completion of a candidate log book

Courses leading to an ASA qualification are subject to an internal and external verification process.

Course Cost

The initial cost of the course is just £210- which is just over half the usual price of £370! Sports Leaders is able to provide you with information on funding organisations who may contribute up to £185, meaning you could pay just £25- less than 10% of the normal course cost!
