Mark Foster (AKA "Nitro") has been chosen to carry the flag for Britain at the opening ceremony this Friday. He will become the first swimmer to carry the flag since Anita Lonsbrough did it in 1964 and followed that up with Gold in the 200m Breaststroke, let's hope this is a good omen for Nitro
He has been chosen from a poll of all British Competitors and it is in recognition of this being Mark's 5th Olympic Games - and to think that he was contemplating retiring after the Manchester World Short Course Championships
To watch Nitro's proud moment then tune into BBC's coverage of the opening ceremony which starts on Friday 8th August 12.45pm.
