Hi Everyone!

Back into full training now, although having to slowly build up the volume of freestyle for Caitlin this week, staying mostly on kick and backstroke for a little while longer and only core and lower body work in the Weights room.

Yesterday and Today had a visiting swimmer in the form of Lizzie Simmonds to train against Caitlin and they did a great set this morning (Long Course). Below is the main set.

Lizzie's Set

5 x ( 400free hold approx 4.40-45 even or neg split on 5.00

200 back Prog 1-5 start under 2.40 and Neg Split on 3.15

100 back hold under 1.10 and Neg split on 1.30

100 recovery on 2.00

Lizzie's averages on 400's was 4.42, the 100's was 1.08, and the 200's went from 2.35 to 2.19. All of the repeats had to be negative split.

Caitlin's Set

5 x ( 300 kick hold under 4.30 on 5.00

200 kick prog 1-5 and start under 2.55 on 3.15

100 freestyle Neg split and under 1.06 on 1.30

100 recovery on 2.00

Caitlin's averages on 300's were 4.27, on the 100's swim were 1.04 (split 33/31) and the 200's kick went from a 2.54 to a 2.41.

Also in Loughborough we have at the moment the Off Shore Centre Lads based out in Australia with Coach Chris Nesbit. They have a challenge of how long it takes to complete 30 pull-ups. Our swimmers got wind of this and found out that the fastest time was 1 min 39 secs. Chris Watkinson today went for the challenge and recorded 30 pull ups in 33.8 seconds!! He continued and got to 41 before he let go of the bar!!

More later!
